At the Gran Teatro de La Habana, the opera Carmen by the composer George Bizet is performed, based on the novel by Prosper Merimée. The acts of the opera go hand in hand with the search for this Carmen, among the women of Havana. We look for this Carmen, with her free and wild personality, among the cigarette sellers, the sorceresses, and the odd smuggler in Havana. This documentary subverts the ending of the opera because the true spirit of Carmen, the one who makes men fall in love with her according to her purposes, would never let herself be killed by her lover, but rather it would be the men who would die for her. An ode to the link between Seville and Havana since time immemorial.
